I pose you a simple question.
May 10, 2010 at 10:11 PM
Occasionaly I roam the Star Wars fourms. I'm currently watching Revenge of the Sith. Whatever. No biggie.Question pulled from http://boards.theforce.net/
"My question is simply one of chronology. Padme says "Hold me like you did on Naboo, when there was no war...." Yet clearly the two did not marry until after the Battle of Geonosis which began the Clone Wars. Nor did they express mutual affection until just prior to the Battle, well after the time they spent together on Naboo.
There seems to have been no chance for Anakin to hold Padme in the romantic way that she describes, since she spurned his advances until Geonosis. This appears to be a discrepancy in the timeline, and I'm interested in resolving it. The best answer so far (thank you, Dark_Jedi_Kenobi) seems to be that the conflict had not yet escalated to the point of all-out war... except that the Republic Ships are leaving Coruscant around the same time as the wedding. Surely Padme would have known the wars were starting? "
Surely.

Sidenote: I don't care what anyone says. Genereal Grievous is such a badass.

I FUCKING LOVE BATTLESTAR GALACTICA
The Star Wars prequels sucked donkey dick.
"I hate sand. It's so...sandy. But you, Padme. You're not sandy. And that is why I love you." - Stick Wars
Better question is when did Padme really "fall in love" with Anakin. Was it:
a) During Phantom Menace when he was ten and she was 15 and she's been carrying the same weird torch as him for 10 years (making here a little on the pedophilic side)
b) While he's busying acting like a stalker, a whiny bitch, complaining about his boss and his life, talking about his praise for fascism, explaining about how he's a mass murderer of women and children, etc. during Attack of the Clones
c) In the few seconds after looking him up and down when re-encounter each other at the beginning of Attack of the Clones and she decides she really wants to have sex with him and, despite the innumerable reasons he provides for why she should run screaming from him, she thinks he's so hot that she'd have sex with him even if he is a mass murdering psycho.
I used to think a) but c) is looking pretty good, too.

I too think Genereal Grievous was a badass until Obi-Wan shot him.
a question of chronology? more like a question of poor writing skill. so poor it's not actually correct to call it skill.
A better question would be why does Leia say she remembers her mother when, according to the prequels, Padme died almost immediately after she was born. The prequel films have so many continuity problems it's best to just disregard them as movies all together.
She is referring to when they went to Naboo near the beginning of Episode II, to protect her from the assassin. Clone war had not begun yet and they were frolicking in the fields and such.
P.S., you and I are about the same age and I think that has something to do with our ability to appreciate the prequels. Like being born before 1985 makes you hate them for no solid reason.
